Character Design
Storyboards
I took Steve Ahn's Storyboarding Workshop back in 2017. Here are some of my boards for that class.
We were given about a week to complete them, at the time I had a full-time job along with these classes, so my storyboards were generally done from concept story to sketched boards in about 3 days.
STORYBOARD CONVERSATION
All students were given the same script excerpt and then had to storyboard it in a limited amount of shots.
Here is my version of the script...in glorious storyboard format! A girl who stumbles into a mechanics shop doesn't remember who she is, all she knows is that she has a bag full of money and is heading to Paris. The mechanic doesn't believe her and tries asking her questions about who she is.

STORYBOARD A HEROES JOURNEY
We were tasked to tell a heroes journey story in a limited amount of shots. Here is my story. A girl wants to travel to a famous and hard to get to waterfall that very few have seen. She enlists the help of an old friend to help her on her journey. They drive and encounter some problems along the way, they come across an Indian Tribe who takes them in for the night and in the morning they show them the way to the falls. They arrive and their heroes journey is complete.

STORYBOARD GROUP ACTION
We all had to storyboard group action and the concept was "a chase". The chase had to involve 3 heroes chasing 3 villains and in the end, they all come together. We were limited to 20 shots. Steve suggested to color code the characters so that we could keep track of them and that they stand out from the background. This definitely helped in my storyboarding process.
My story: 3 cops are chasing after the infamous Black Claw Gang through the city. Detective 1(red) is chasing the big boss(red) through the streets. Detective 2(blue) is chasing suspect 2(blue) through the subway. Detective 3(green) is chasing suspect 3(green) via police car through the streets. In the end, they all converge and nab the baddies.
